- "Carole King and Paul McCartney are at either shoulder, and I'm singing
'Stand by Me,' one of my favorite songs ever," he said. "I was like, 'OK,
I can die now. I can get hit by a car tomorrow. I'm satisfied'." Zac,
on the Songwriter's Hall of Fame induction ceremony.
- Q: If you could each interview one person, dead or alive, who
would it be and why?
Zac: Good question! That's really hard....I would interview Gandhi.
- Q: Have you seen the male
fan base grow at all with the new music?
Zac: I think you see the fan base grow and change with every
album that comes out. There has been a slight male growth in this record....And
that's always a good thing, to have more fans, guys or girls.
- Q: Do u have a razor scooter?
Zac: Yes I have a razor scooter, I was given it and I don't
see the point in riding a razor scooter if you have a motorcycle...
- We're just writing things we feel and think about. It's just coming
straight from us", he says. "At a certain point there are only so many
things you can write about: love, hate, existence, just being there. At a
certain point you're connecting with something someone else is feeling.
- The world would really suck if there wasn't music.
- Q:What would he tell someone to expect who has never seen Hanson play live?
Zac: Don't expect anything and you'll be really surprised. A lot of
people go to our concerts not knowing what to expect because of our younger
fan base. People almost expect us to come out and dance and do something
like that. This is a full-blown band situation. That's what it is. We
are all about rocking. Whether some people think we are going to be gone
in five years or whatever it is, I will let them see for themselves in
20 years when we're still rocking.
- I think success is merely a tool to do music more for us.
- As a song writer you listen to all kinds of music and it effects you in
ways you don't realize. In a subconscious way you incorporate that sound
in some way in your music.
- I think this album (TTA) has a very diverse set of songs.
- Yes, we surf. Not well, but we surf.
- We try to change clothes every day.
- We've gotten the opportunity to do something that we really love to do
as a job. But because it's something we love so much, it's always fun
to do it. You can always make the best of it.
- I think every band has an image thing to get by, whether it's the Black
Crowes that are a 70's rock band reincarnated; Aerosmith being too old for
their underwear; Britney Spears is fake and has plastic boobs. Every band
has something to get over, and all we've ever said is, "We're just a band.
Listen to the music and if you like it you like it. And if you don't, you
don't.
- I know drummers are supposed to be crazy people, but I know thinking
straight helps me be the backbone for the band.
- If someone likes our music, whether they're 1 year old or 93, that's
awesome.
- Well, I’d probably be a dork because I didn’t want to be around any idiots
who think they are cool. Dorks are generally cool; they’re just
misunderstood.
Well put Zac! I totally agree. Although I can't imagine you as
a 'dork', especially since over here we use the word 'boffin'. Who makes up these
stupid words????
- We are all pretty level-headed. Nobody's going to go out and do something
really stupid. Tay and Isaac aren't overly protective; they don't suffer
the older-brother syndrome. But if you really want to get general, I'm
the spastic, Isaac's the funny one and Tay is just somewhere in the middle.
