I met Hanson! It's every fans' dream to meet their idols and I did just that. I met Hanson. This is my story...
	One day I was surfing the net like I sometimes do and I came across a competition to meet Hanson. All you had to do to enter was put in your details and say what Hanson's debut album was called. So I filled it in and submitted it. I did this again and again. I must have entered the competition about 20-30 times or more. I really, really wanted to win. I was meant to be told by Tuesday 11 April before 7pm if I was a winner. I really thought I would win and I sorted out what I would wear if I won. All Tuesday evening I waited earnestly by the telephone. No one called and on Wednesday I went to school feeling upset. I remember telling my friend how upset I was that I hadn't won the competition. The school day passed and I came home, not knowing that during the next few minutes my not so distant future would be changed forever. My mum called me to my room, where the computer is. She showed me an e-mail she had sent to my cousin asking her to accompany me to meet Hanson. When I read the words ˜I got a telephone call this morning' I knew I had won and I couldn't believe it. Just the thought of me meeting Hanson reduced me to tears. I kept asking my mum if it was a joke. After a while I phoned my friend who is also a Hanson fan and told her the great news. I had to tell someone before school the next day. The seconds, minutes and hours passed by and Thursday was on the horizon. Thursday 13th April 2000 is the day I met Hanson. I couldn't concentrate at school and all my friends were really happy and excited for me. They all knew how much I wanted to meet them and how long I had waited for an opportunity like that. I left school early so I had enough time to get ready. I wore a white ¾ length sleeve shirt with green embroidered flowers and black trousers. I went to my cousin and then we took the train. From the train station we walked to the Hard Rock Cafe London. We went down into the lower floor. We were given VIP passes. From then on I was sort of in a daze. It was too good to be true. We walked down the stairs took a seat and waited. While we were waiting, fans started arriving by the truckload. We were early. Just after 4 o'clock Hanson came. There were loud shrieks as they walked in and the screams grew louder. I couldn't see them at first because of all the people, but I managed to catch a glimpse of Taylor's hair. I just thought 'wow, is this really happening?', Hanson sat at a table and an orderly queue was meant to form. But instead people just tried to push to the front. They were allowed to sign one thing. Eventually my time came, I walked over to the table and handed my picture to Zac. I don't know why, but I didn't talk to Zac. I think it had something to do with the fact that Taylor was sitting right next to him (by the way Taylor is my favourite). Zac signed the picture then passed it to Taylor, who asked me my name and wrote 'To Geeta, Best wishes!' and then he signed his name. Tay and I talked for less than a minute. He was so friendly and I shook his hand! It was truly amazing to be standing opposite Taylor and well, all of Hanson. Like the rest, I was pushed along the table and Isaac signed my picture. I just stood by the table staring. I couldn't believe what I had just done. I took as many photos as I could. I walked around to my seat. My cousin let them sign my Hanson book. This time Isaac wrote 'To: Geeta, Peace + Love HANSON', like before all three of them had signed it. Then I went back into the sea of people to see them again. Once everyone had been to get something signed, we went one by one to have our photo taken with Hanson. I overheard the organisers talking about it, one said 'Did you have to ask them to do it?'. The other one answered 'No, they wanted to do it'. When I heard that I knew I was right about Hanson. I always thought they were 3 talented, kind and caring guys. When they say 'It's all about the fans', believe it, because they really mean it. I went up and had my photo taken. I stood between Taylor and Isaac. As I left Isaac said 'Thanks, have a nice day', I replied 'Yeah, you too'. After everyone had their photo taken with them, they had to leave. They waited a bit outside the doors and then they left. Hanson were and are wonderful and they were really friendly. They were only there for around 35 minutes, which was disappointing as I was told they would be there for an hour. However it was still great to meet them. For those of you who haven't met them keep hoping, dreaming and believing and perhaps one day it will be your turn. That's what I did and it worked. Hanson, if you are reading this, I want you to know that you are a great inspiration to me and to me, you are, all three of you, a symbol of hope. Also I think your music is great.
